We understand that it is time for sound debate, sound logic, sound conclusions. We understand that it is time for complete reformation of our political climate. We are living in historic, epic times that will cause citizens, 30-50 years from now to ask the old ones.....what did you do during the revolution that brought us back to Common Sense ?

Today, Ron Paul, chairman of the House Financial Services Committee, asks some very important questions of Mr. Bernanke.....and Bernanke gave answers that we can ALL see and hear are truly not the answers we would have expected. Listen as Bernanke fumbles for his words which are nothing but more double-speak.

Casey Anthony, the mother of a toddler whose body was stuffed into a bag and tossed into a swamp, will walk free in a day or so. A jury was unable to conclude that the abandoned body, its face covered in duct tape, was murdered. There wasn’t, they insisted, enough “proof” even though the child’s mother did not report her to be either dead or missing, and then lied to family, friends, and law enforcement authorities until the body was recovered.

The case caught the attention of the public because Casey Anthony’s behavior was not just bizarre, it was abhorrent.

The mainstream media has picked the bones of Cayley Anthony clean without telling Americans that the U.S. has the highest rate of child homicide rates, four times as high, as all other Western nations surveyed.

In a March 31, 2000 article, World Net Daily report, Ian Murray, a senior research analyst at the Statistical Assessment Service, a Washington-based non-profit, non-partisan think tank, said “in the rush to reduce America’s high juvenile homicide rates into a gun-control debate, we’re missing the chilling bigger picture of the real and deadly risks our children face, and what it says about our society.”

“For every American child 4 or younger” that is murdered, said Murray, “more than eight others died violently by other means” than guns. They are murdered by blunt objects, strangulation or, most commonly, hands, fists or feet.”

We don’t have a gun problem in America; 80,000,000 Americans own guns. “Even if all the gun homicides were taken out of the equation, America would still have an infant-homicide rate more than 3.5 times as high as the other Western countries”, a phenomenon Murray described as “staggering.”

We live in a society where toddlers are dressed provocatively, adorned with adult makeup, and paraded in contests as objects of desire. We have gone from Shirley Temple to JonBenet Ramsey.

We have gone from a preponderance of traditional two-parent families to a scandal of single-parent “families” and Casey Anthony was just one of many such single mothers. No one knows who the father is.

It is not a stretch to point out that President Obama was the son of a divorced, teen-aged mother, who remarried, divorced again, and abandoned her child to the care of her parents. The President experienced trauma and dislocation throughout all of his formative years. Why should we not conclude that it seriously affected him? To this day, his mother-in-law lives in the White House to provide a measure of care for his two daughters.

Common to both Ms. Anthony and the President is the persistent and blatant telling of lies.

Of the present tragedy and miscarriage of justice, we already know that Casey Anthony has achieved “celebrity” status. We have gone from Hester Prynne of the “Scarlet Letter” to books, made-for-TV movies, and all the other blandishments that will be lavished on this accused and acquitted murderer.

None of this speaks well of our society. Too many toddlers are being murdered by their parents. Too many are being abandoned to the care of their grandparents. Too many are lost in a foster parent system that often leaves them scarred for life.

It does not take much prescience or insight to conclude that Casey Anthony will come to a bad end. It’s just a matter of time.

America is heading in a bad direction, too. Do we have time to turn around a wounded society that allows sexual deviants to parade in our streets and preach their lifestyle in our schoolrooms?

Do we have time to end the practice of same-sex marriages?

Do we have time to put an end to all the calls that any symbol of the Christian and Jewish faiths be removed from public display, any mention of God or any prayer in public meetings be silenced?

The clock is ticking.

FDA Set to Kill Nutritional Supplement Industry

There is a lot of anti-government rhetoric pouring forth from a variety of sources these days. But the truth is that people are literally beating a dead horse here. For those who study the question closely, it has become more and more apparent that what passes for “government” in today’s world is really just a front for a command-and-control system that runs things from a much deeper level. Peel back the layers of the onion, and what you discover is that money and power are the exclusive forces that rule this country, with government acting as their willing servants.

It is this model that best explains the Food and Drug Administration’s endless long war against nutritional and dietary supplements – and now this war is about to be taken to a whole new level. The legal drug industry, otherwise known as the pharmaceutical companies, have apparently decided the time is right to eliminate the one threat to their obscene profit margins that still remains. With the hands and strings of their puppet masters clearly in sight, the FDA has issued new regulations that will give it god-like powers to regulate the supplement industry all but out of existence.

The FDA’s Long Gambit

Back in 1994, when the FDA’s war on the nutritional supplement industry was going full force, Congress responded to public pressure by passing the Dietary Supplemental Health and Education Act. This law was designed to get the FDA off of the backs of the nutritional supplement industry, but it did contain a provision that required supplement manufacturers to notify the FDA whenever they added a new ingredient to an existing supplement or created a whole new product out of these new ingredients.

Probably because this provision seemed toothless from the perspective of the FDA, they basically ignored it for 17 years. When Congress passed the Food Safety Bill in 2010, however, this new law mandated the FDA to finally set written standards for NDI (New Dietary Ingredient) notifications. Given its apparent indifference up to this point, one might have expected the FDA to do little. But now, it appears that FDA bureaucrats and their pharmaceutical controllers had actually been playing possum for all of these years. On July 1^st, just before the government recessed for the holiday, the FDA issued its new standards for NDI notification – and in doing so, it revealed its true agenda for all to see.

The major feature of the Kyoto Protocol is that it sets binding targets for 37 industrialized countries and the European community for reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions .These amount to an average of five per cent against 1990 levels over the five-year period 2008-2012.

In The Belly of The Beast: Alex Jones Wins Over Mainstream Colleagues

It’s still the buzz of the talk radio industry: the passionate keynote speech delivered by Alex Jones at the TALKERS convention on June 11th. In front of the mainstream media, on their hallowed turf, GCN radio superstar and anti-establishment thorn Alex Jones blasted the status quo and raised a call to arms to renew a sense of responsibility to the truth on the part of talk radio.

From TALKERS:

Although he did include the basic tenets of his ongoing warning against what he terms global social engineers’ conspiracy to gain control over the population’s (and talk radio’s) freedom via the internet and how he effectively taps into the public’s growing backlash against this, he also predicted a rapid acceleration of the technological and social changes impacting our society and discussed talk radio’s unique and powerful position as both an old and new medium in the coming era.

While at the convention, Alex Jones became quick buddies with actor and talk radio host Stephen Baldwin, whose right-leaning yet independent views differ vastly from his famous brother Alec.

Ben Fuchs says the event was a watershed for Alex Jones and GCN because this audience was comprised of fellow industry people who themselves specialize in the art of speaking. “Most people communicate just by default. There’s no consciousness behind their communication; there’s no awareness of their communication process. But these were people who understood the actual technique.”

TALKERS publisher Michael Harrison summed up the occasion eloquently: “It was about the power of truth as an attraction unto itself – whatever that truth might be.”

Nuclear Plant in Nebraska on Alert

We have a nuclear threat occurring in the very center of our own country and NONE of our mainstream media seems it is important enough to broadcast the event. Well, I think it is of MAJOR importance, so here is the linked story, from June 16.

Midwest Floods: Both Nebraska Nuclear Power Stations Threatened

Tens of millions of acres in the US corn belt have flooded, which will spike the cost of gas and food over the next several months. Worse, several nuclear power plants sit in the flooded plains. Both nuclear plants in Nebraska are partly submerged and the FAA has issued a no-fly order over both of them.

On June 7, the Fort Calhoun Nuclear Power Plant filed an Alert with the Nuclear Regulatory Commission after a fire broke out in the switchgear room. During the event, “spent fuel pool cooling was lost” when two fuel pumps failed for about 90 minutes.

On June 9, Nebraska’s other plant, Cooper Nuclear Power Station near Brownville, filed a Notice of Unusual Event (NOUE), advising it is unable to discharge sludge into the Missouri River due to flooding, and therefore “overtopped” its sludge pond.

The Fort Calhoun TFR (temporary flight restriction) was issued the day before the nuclear Alert. The FAA issued another TFR on June 7 for the Cooper plant.

Other flood-related TFRs were issued on June 13 for the Garrison Dam in Bismarck, North Dakota and on June 5 for rescue operations in Sioux City, SD.

Under the four-level nuclear event scale used in the US, an NOUE is the least hazardous. In an Alert, however, “events are in process or have occurred that involve an actual or potential substantial degradation in the level of safety of the plant,” according to the NRC.

Despite some media reports, Ft Calhoun is not at a stage 4 level of emergency, which under the US scale, would be “actual or imminent substantial core damage or melting of reactor fuel with the potential for loss of containment integrity.”

If that rumor refers to the seven-level International Nuclear and Radiological Event Scale, a Level 4 incident requires at least one death, which has not occurred.

Continued flooding does threaten the plants, however. As nuclear engineer Arnie Gundersen explains in this video, cooling pumps must operate continuously, even years after a plant is shut down.

One group, the Foundation for Resilient Societies, has proposed solar panels and other high-reliability power sources to supply backup cooling for the fuel pools at nuclear plants.

Thomas Popik told Food Freedom that FRS “invited the Chief Nuclear Officers of nearly every nuclear power utility to comment” on their proposal and only heard back from one operator. Otherwise, not one CNO has officially responded to the NRC-filed proposal.

While hindsight might be 20/20, the lack of foresight can be blindingly deadly when it comes to radioactive waste that lasts tens of thousands of years for the measly prize of 40 years of electricity.

The Ft. Calhoun plant — which stores its fuel rods at ground level according to Tom Burnett — is already partly submerged.

Second, we have scholars, photo journalists, reporters, protesters, and others share free documents, documentaries, and other materials which expose / prove an illicit effort of the attendees to collude in order to gain economic control / power over major resource areas of the world. With the growing movement to end the Federal Reserve, many are talking about it but one man is doing something about it. Eric Raue is inviting other GCN listeners to join him in peaceful protest, and he is kicking it off on Independence Day, the 4th of July, 2011.

Starting on July 4th, at 1:00 p.m. EST, an extended protest event will begin in New Paltz, New York, on the fenced green just over the bridge on Main Street. Raue says the event will last 24/7 until November 1st, or until his goal is met: the abolition of the Federal Reserve System. The target of the protest is not only the Federal Reserve, but also its pervasive role in modern U.S. government.

Raue writes, “This ‘mutant government’, getting stronger every day while the average Westerner sits and watches, is a network of corporate and banking institutions as much as it is a political system.”

To gain insight into the perceptive ‘Infowarrior’ mind of Raue, considering what he wrote for comments at The Huntington Patch following the announcement of the death of Osama bin Laden:

“At best, this is a political event that will be exploited to step up surveillance and the erosion of civil liberties here at home as we’re injected with “retaliation fear.” It will also be used to justify expanding and accelerating our wars in the Middle East. If we’re celebrating death, even the death of an evil man, aren’t we putting ourselves on the same level as the brutal ‘Islamofascist’ terrorists whose ideologies we’re supposedly battling? The people celebrating in NYC and DC looked just like the Arab mobs who were documented celebrating on 9/11. When we celebrate death, destruction, and the military-industrial complex, we’re supporting terrorism.”

Raue will set up an 8′ x 12′ platform on the edge of downtown New Paltz, on the green at the start of Main Street, just over the bridge. He says, “I will not leave the platform until The Fed is abolished, or the 120-day period has ended. By becoming a fixture in that spot for an extended period of time, I hope to inspire [others].”

For example, the Osama Bin Laden "death story" has already been changed by the White House multiple times. Fake Osama Bin Laden death photos (like the one above) have been flying all over the Internet. Massive amounts of radiation continues to pour out of the Fukushima nuclear complex in Japan and yet all the authorities continue to insist that it is nothing to worry about. The global economy is teetering on the brink of disaster and yet it is being called "an economic recovery". The U.S. government has essentially already reached the debt ceiling and yet now Timothy Geithner is claiming that it won't be a problem until August. The world is becoming a more bizarre place with each passing week, and the lies just keep on getting bigger and bigger and bigger.

#1 CNN is reporting that the clearest death picture of Osama Bin Laden "is so gruesome and mangled" that authorities believe it is not appropriate for the public. But the truth is that Hollywood movies show much worse every single day. Media Runs Fake Photo To Illustrate Bin Laden Death Propaganda

Everything about the Bin Laden myth is fake, so why worry about illustrating his “death” with another contrived hoax?

Killing Osama bin Laden is a pretty big deal. You’d think that it would be in the interests of US forces to take a snapshot of the elusive terror leader to milk the propaganda value of such a momentous turn of events, and yet the corporate media has given us nothing but a years old fake picture. This makes little sense, unless of course, somebody is trying to hide something, namely the fact that Osama’s dead corpse has been on ice for the best part of a decade.

According to some reports, Bin Laden’s body has already been hastily “buried at sea,” meaning that the comic book story of his dramatic killing is based solely on the less than credible word of the U.S. government.

Of course, it’s probable that we’ll be treated to seeing all the gory details in due course once Osama’s corpse has been properly thawed and suitably presented for public consumption.

But the fake photo, which is still being used by the likes of the Daily Mail and the London Telegraph even after it was proven to be a contrived hoax that has been circulating on the Internet for years, fits perfectly with everything surrounding the Bin Laden myth – the fake video tapes, the fake audio tapes, the fake claim of responsibility for 9/11.

Everything about the Bin Laden myth that has been rapaciously whipped up by the establishment over the last 10 years has been fake, so why worry about putting out a fake photo and claiming it represents the freshly dead remains of the world’s most wanted?

We don’t need MSNC to tell us, “We think that bin Laden ‘death photo’ is a fake,” because we know it’s a fake. It’s been knocking around on the web since before Obama even took office. Here it is featured in a story released over a year ago. As Stokes Young illustrates, the bloodied face of Bin Laden is an obviously contrived composite image created from an image of Osama that dates back over 10 years.

But that didn’t stop TV news stations across the Middle East, as well as major newspapers in Britain like the Daily Mail and the London Telegraph, amongst a host of others, from passing the fraud off as evidence of Bin Laden’s death.

Bin Laden had approved the 9/11 attacks in which nearly 3,000 people died.

He evaded the forces of the US and its allies for almost a decade, despite a $25m bounty on his head.

Mr Obama said he had been briefed last August on a possible lead to Bin Laden's whereabouts.

"It was far from certain, and it took many months to run this thread to ground," Mr Obama said.

"I met repeatedly with my national security team as we developed more information about the possibility that we had located Bin Laden hiding within a compound deep inside of Pakistan.

"And finally, last week, I determined that we had enough intelligence to take action, and authorised an operation to get Osama Bin Laden and bring him to justice," the president said.

On Sunday, US forces said to be from the elite Navy Seal Team Six undertook the operation in Abbottabad, 100km (62 miles) north-east of Islamabad.

After a "firefight" Bin Laden was killed and his body taken by US forces, the president said.

Mr Obama said "no Americans were harmed".

US officials said Bin Laden was shot in the head after resisting.

US media reports said that the body was buried at sea to conform with Islamic practice of a burial within 24 hours and to prevent any grave becoming a shrine.

A small school in Chicago is making big news on the lunch line these days. Little Village Academy on Chicago's West Side no longer allows students to bring food from home to eat for lunch. So it's either eat the cafeteria food or go hungry. As you might expect, the policy has parents all around the nation in an uproar.
According to Little Village's principal, Elsa Carmona, the intention of the policy is to protect students from the potential for unhealthy homemade lunches.

"Nutrition wise, it is better for the children to eat at the school," Carmona told the Chicago Tribune. "It's about the nutrition and the excellent quality food that they are able to serve (in the lunchroom). It's milk versus a Coke. But with allergies and any medical issue, of course, we would make an exception."
Carmona says she made the policy decision after seeing kids bringing bottles of soda and bags of chips on field trips. I applaud her intention to improve kids' nutrition, but I'm not sure that banning homemade lunches is the way to get it done.

My work took me pretty close to my brother's home in the great state of Texas. Gas prices being what they are, I didn't pass up the opportunity [he even offered gas cash], having rare occasions to see him in the flesh. We had a couple of days of "brothers catching up", sightseeing, bar-b-que, and fellowship.
The NCAA was not meeting our standards, I threw "museum texas" into StartPage and found the AMERICAN FREEDOM MUSEUM - BULLARD, TX.

Brook Hill School

Situated within the halls of The Brook Hill School, the museum extends out of the original Brook Hill School building as a symbol of the strength and morality that has been nurtured at this site. The architecture is naturally luring as you walk to the front doors lying beneath the semi-monolithic domed entry. When one looks at the entire site it is seen as an extension of learning ...evolving into intellectual strength. This type of high school environ is hard to find these days....

4) The implementation of COMEX Position Limits in Silver of no more than 1,500 contracts and the enforcement of the Disruptive Trading Practices law.
5) The winding down of the outrageous and manipulative Silver derivative positions held by both JP Morgan and HSBC as reported by the Bank for International Settlements.
6) The mass redemption of paper Silver currently held in Pooled Silver Accounts and Silver Certificate Programs into physical silver held in the possession of the owner.
7) The Silver to Gold Price Ratio reflects the true physical relationship between above ground gold and above ground silver that is available for sale on a free and open market.
8) The realization by industrial users of silver that the supply of physical silver is rapidly depleting and with the future of producing their products in jeopardy they begin stockpiling physical silver.
9) The reversal of Silver's ever increasing use in industrial applications due to either high prices or the discovery of a viable substitute with similar physical properties and attributes.
10) The realization by the remaining 99.9% of the investing public that does not currently own any physical that Silver is extremely undervalued and should be held by all investors interested in portfolio safety and value appreciation.

11) Acknowledgment by the Bullion Banks and US Government that they have been involved in the price suppression of Silver for over 50 years in order to support and extend the global confidence in un-backed fiat US Dollar.
12) All Silver statistical reporting companies have completely revised their historical numbers to reflect the true supply/demand realities of the past and admit to the massive annual physical silver deficit going forward.
13) The USGS alerts the world to the reality that at the REAL current Silver consumption rates there is less than 10 years of known below ground Silver reserves remaining in the world.
14) The realization by investors that significant increases in the price of Silver would not curtail industrial demand as silver is mostly used in very small amounts in each product produced.
15) The mainstream media highlights that the investment drivers for Silver far out weight the investment drivers for Gold.
16) The US Mint starts to produce US Silver Eagle coins "in quantities sufficient to meet demand" and no longer illegally rations their dwindling supply.
17) When investors stop saying that silver is "too hard to store" and start worrying that silver is "too valuable to leave in a bank's safe deposit box".
18) When Central Bankers around the world stop printing money every time there is a "bump in the road" on their never ending quest to foster perpetual growth and end the extraordinary transfer of wealth from "the many" to "the few".
19) The US Government and the Citizens of the United States recognize and acknowledge that Article I, Sec. 10 of the US Constitution specifies that only gold and silver coin can be legally used as money.
and finally...
20) The price of silver has risen so high that it has fulfilled all my hopes and aspirations as an investor and I can now sit back and enjoy those other pleasures of life that I had put off in pursuit of FREEING THE SILVER MARKET FROM THE CLUTCHES OF MANIPULATION!

So there it is. That's the list of events that must take place for the fulfillment of my Silver investing motivations. MAKE NO MISTAKE: The price impact to silver when each one of these events takes place will be STUNNING...and sooner or later they will ALL take place!

Getting Kids ready for TEOTWAWKI.....

My wife and I are both in our late 30s and have just started living a life of preparedness. Unfortunately, we started this journey just after building a new house on 15 acres in Northeastern Minnesota. We wish we had a few years back to build over with a different frame of mind, but we count our blessings and enjoy our rural location. We live on my single income (about $70,000) and have four beautiful children, ages 4 through 9.

While having four children makes life a little more interesting financially, by being frugal, we have still been able to prepare with our limited disposable income. In the past three years we have:

Installed a wood stove to heat the house

Installed a hand pump on the well along side the electric pump

Put away over 65 buckets of food in Mylar bags and 5-gallon buckets.

Built a small inventory of ammo for hunting and defense

Bought numerous back-up items like: medical supplies, ordered a Big Berkey, a pressure canner, a grain mill, and put together a large pantry that would feed us for about a year.

Purchased the building materials to build an underground root cellar with a small cabin (16’ x 10’) over the top of it.

How did we do all this? We quit eating out as a family once every week or two. Now, if we go out for a burger or pizza, it is once a month or once every two months. We cancelled our cell phone coverage and bought a TracFone. We stripped down our land line to the bare necessity, and then we shut off our television service. In addition, we changed investment strategies to give us more money for practical goods. We bargain shop and buy online a lot through eBay and other such sites.

Preparedness with Kids

Having supplies is great, but a true plan must have the full family accounted for. If it were just my wife and I, it would be much easier to prepare, not only financially, but logistically. With kids involved, there is much more to think about. The first step in preparedness with kids is in really getting to know them. This may sound like a dumb statement, but it is vitally important to know each of you kids’ strengths and weaknesses. I will come back to this in numerous parts of this entry.

Conclusion

We have much to learn about preparedness, and our family learns more and more each day. My preparedness plan has my kids joining my wife and I in this adventure. From canning raspberry jam and green beans to learning how to start a fire to learning how to set the hook for their first fish, we just want our kids to learn more skills that will lead to a life of self-sufficiency. The more we do now, the better prepared they will be in the future. If TEOTWAWKI happens sooner than we want, we hope our simple household preparedness steps will help us serve the Lord in a time period where people will need it the most.

THE IMPEACHMENT POWER

1. Article II, Section IV of the United States Constitution provides: “The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.”

2. According to James Madison’s Records of the Convention, 2:550; Madison, 8 Sept., Mr. George Mason objected to an initial proposal to confine impeachable offenses to treason or bribery:

Why is the provision restrained to Treason & bribery only? Treason as defined in the Constitution will not reach many great and dangerous offences. Hastings is not guilty of Treason. Attempts to subvert the Constitution may not be Treason as above defined–As bills of attainder which have saved the British Constitution are forbidden, it is the more necessary to extend: the power of impeachments.

3. Delegates to the Federal Convention voted overwhelmingly to include “high crimes and misdemeanors” in Article II, Section IV of the United States Constitution specifically to ensure that “attempts to subvert the Constitution” would fall within the universe of impeachable offences. Id.

4. Alexander Hamilton, a delegate to the Federal Convention, characterized impeachable offenses in Federalist 65 as, “offenses which proceed from the misconduct of public men, or in other words, from the violation or abuse of some public trust. They are of a nature which with peculiar propriety may be denominated political, as they relate chiefly to injuries done to society itself.”

49. Since the passage of United Nations Security Council resolution 1973 on March 19, 2011, the United States has detonated over 200 tomahawk land attack cruise missiles and 455 precision-guided bombs on Libyan soil.

50. Libya posed no actual or imminent threat to the United States when President Obama unleashed Operation Odyssey Dawn.

51. On March 27, 2011, Secretary of Defense Robert Gates stated that Libya never posed an “actual or imminent threat to the United States.” He further stated that Libya has never constituted a “vital interest” to the United States.

52. United Nations Security Council resolution 1973 directs an indefinite United States military quagmire in Libya, authorizing “all necessary measures” to protect Libyan civilians, which clearly contemplates removal by force of the murderous regime of Col. Muammar Qadhafi.

53. In a Letter From the President to the Speaker of the House of Representatives and the President Pro Tempore of the Senate sent March 21, 2011, President Barack Obama informed Members of Congress that “U.S. forces have targeted the Qadhafi regime’s air defense systems, command and control structures, and other capabilities of Qadhafi’s armed forces used to attack civilians and civilian populated areas. We will seek a rapid, but responsible, transition of operations to coalition, regional, or international organizations that are postured to continue activities as may be necessary to realize the objectives of U.N. Security Council Resolutions 1970 and 1973.”

54. In his March 21, 2011 letter, President Barack Obama further informed Members of Congress that he opted to take unilateral military action “…in support of international efforts to protect civilians and prevent a humanitarian disaster.”

55. President Barack Obama has usurped congressional authority to decide on war or peace with Libya, and has declared he will persist in additional usurpations of the congressional power to commence war whenever he decrees it would advance his idea of the national interest. On March 28, 2011, he declared to Congress and the American people: “I have made it clear that I will never hesitate to use our military swiftly, decisively, and unilaterally when necessary to defend our people, our homeland, our allies, and our core interests” (emphasis added).

56. President Obama’s humanitarian justification for war in Libya establishes a threshold that would justify his initiation of warfare in scores of nations around the globe, including Iran, North Korea, Syria, Sudan, Myanmar, China, Belarus, Zimbabwe, Cuba, and Russia.

57. In Olmstead v. United States, 277 U.S. 438 (1928), Justice Louis D. Brandeis wrote on behalf of a majority of the United States Supreme Court:

Experience should teach us to be most on our guard to protect liberty when the Government’s purposes are beneficent. Men born to freedom are naturally alert to repel invasion of their liberty by evil-minded rulers. The greatest dangers to liberty lurk in insidious encroachment by men of zeal, well meaning but without understanding.

58. President Barack Obama has signed an order, euphemistically named a “Presidential Finding,” authorizing covert U.S. government support for rebel forces seeking to oust Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi, further entangling the United States in the Libyan conflict, despite earlier promises of restraint. Truth is invariably the first casualty of war.

59. In response to questions by Members of Congress during a classified briefing on March 30, 2011, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton indicated that the President needs no Congressional authorization for his attack on the Libyan nation, and will ignore any Congressional attempt by resolution or otherwise to constrain or halt United States participation in the Libyan war.

60. On March 30, 2011, by persistent silence or otherwise, Secretary Clinton rebuffed congressional inquiries into President Obama’s view of the constitutionality of the War Powers Resolution of 1973. She failed to cite a single judicial decision in support of President Obama’s recent actions, relying instead on the undisclosed legal opinions of White House attorneys.

61. President Barack Obama, in flagrant violation of his constitutional oath to execute his office as President of the United States and preserve and protect the United States Constitution, has usurped the exclusive authority of Congress to authorize the initiation of war, in that on March 19, 2011 President Obama initiated an offensive military attack against the Republic of Libya without congressional authorization. In so doing, President Obama has arrested the rule of law, and saluted a vandalizing of the Constitution that will occasion ruination of the Republic, the crippling of individual liberty, and a Leviathan government unless the President is impeached by the House of Representatives and removed from office by the Senate.

In all of this, President Barack Obama has acted in a manner contrary to his trust as President and subversive of constitutional government, to the great prejudice of the cause of law and justice and to the manifest injury of the people of the United States.

NEW DELHI—India imposed a three-month suspension on food imports from Japan, fearing contamination due to radiation leaks from a crippled nuclear plant in the quake-hit nation, a government statement said Tuesday.

Radiation levels around the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant, damaged by the massive earthquake and tsunami on March 11, spiked following a new explosion at one reactor and a fire at another.

Conservative Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper has received a vote of no-confidence over "abuse of power" allegations, leading to the collapse of the government.

The opposition parties managed to gather 156 votes in favor of the motion versus 145 for the government's survival on Friday.

The main opposition, Liberal Party, along with the separatist Bloc Quebecois and leftist New Democrats supported the motion.

Before the vote, the leader of the main official opposition Liberal Party, Michael Ignatieff, said "After five years of Conservative government, it is time to say enough is enough."

Earlier this week, a parliamentary committee hit another blow to the government as it announced that the conservatives had hidden the full costs of a spending program from parliament and people.

"A government that breaks the rules and conceals facts from the Canadian people does not deserve to remain in office," Ignatieff noted.

The Liberals vowed to scrap $6.1 billion in corporate tax cuts and end extravagant multibillion-dollar plans to buy new fighter jets and build prison cells.

Canada's budget deficit hit a record high of C$55.6 billion last year. The Canadian joblessness is 7.8 percent.

DES MOINES, Iowa — Ron Paul warned a group of home schooling advocates on Wednesday that officials at the Department of Education are trying to “indoctrinate” their children.

“They don’t educate our kids, they indoctrinate our kids,” the Texas congressman said of federal education efforts. “It’s a propaganda machine.”

Paul, who's considering a second White House bid in as many cycles, cast the many home schoolers in the crowd as something akin to a merry band of rebels against federal overreach. “What I’ve seen from you is an effort to counteract the propaganda machine."

Paul said the concerns expressed about children who are home schooled have been overblown and contended that the kids who really have a problem are those who grow up in the public system.

“In public education they’re intimidated to be conformists and individuals taught at home are very adapted to expressing what they believe,” he said.

Paul also credited home schoolers — many of whom, he conceded, supported his 2008 presidential campaign — for fostering an appreciation of the Constitution and the founding documents.

College students in Texas may be permitted to bear arms on campus, making it the country's second state, after Utah, to approve such measures .

More than half of the state's House approved a measure that allows college students to openly carry guns, AP reported.

The Senate had passed a similar bill back in 2009 and is expected to pass the recent measure as well.

The issue has stirred various reactions due to Texas's gun culture and the state's vast size. The state has 38 public universities and over 500,000 students.

University of Texas President William Powers has voiced his opposition to the measure while Texan Governor Rick Perry has announced his support for the bill.

Supporters of the legislature argue that fatal incidents involving guns such as the University of Texas sniper incident, the Virginia Tech shootings, and the Northern Illinois incident, point to the need for openly bear arms by students and professors.

Their argument also holds that shooters are less likely to open fire in areas where the population is armed.

Dozens of states have been introduced to the bill. States such as Oklahoma have held strong opposition, whereas Colorado has left the decision of bearing arms up to individual campuses.

An undercover TSA agent was able to get through security at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport with a handgun during testing of the enhanced-imaging body scanners, according to a high-ranking, inside source at the Transportation Security Administration.

The source said the undercover agent carried a pistol in her undergarments when she put the body scanners to the test. The officer successfully made it through the airport's body scanners every time she tried, the source said.

"In this case, where they had a test, and it was just a dismal failure as I'm told," said Larry Wansley, former head of security at American Airlines. "As I've heard (it), you got a problem, especially with a fire arm."

Internet traffic in and out of the country slumped shortly after midnight Cairo time yesterday, according to Web security company Arbor Networks. Mobile-phone services run by local units of Vodafone Group Plc and France Telecom SA were also halted.
“Rather abruptly, in a coordinated fashion, all of the major Internet providers that have traffic in and out of Egypt basically withdrew from the Internet,” said Craig Labovitz, chief scientist at Arbor Networks.
National authorities shut the connections after demonstrators took to the streets, inspired by an uprising that ousted Tunisian President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali on Jan. 14. Egypt has one one of the most advanced telecommunications markets in the Middle East and Africa. Local officials couldn’t be reached for comment.
Facebook Inc., owner of the world’s biggest social- networking site, is seeing “only minimal traffic from Egypt,” spokesman Andrew Noyes said in an e-mail. Google Inc., the largest search engine, said people in Egypt are unable to access Google and its YouTube video service, “or at best are having real difficulty doing so,” according to a company spokeswoman.

Alpha Natural Resources Inc., the third-biggest U.S. coal producer, is close to an agreement to buy Massey Energy Co. for about $7 billion, according to a person familiar with the situation.

The stock and cash offer values Massey, the largest Central Appalachian coal producer, at $68 to $69 a share, said the person, who declined to be identified because the talks are private. An agreement may be reached as early as today and announced on Jan. 31, this person said. The Wall Street Journal reported the deal earlier.

Massey shareholders will receive about 1.025 Alpha shares, plus $10 in cash for each share held, representing an almost 20 percent premium from Massey’s closing share price yesterday, according to the person. The boards of Alpha and Massey have been briefed on details of the deal, the person said. The runner-up for Richmond, Virginia-based Massey was Arch Coal Inc., according to the person.

Jeff Gillenwater, a Massey spokesman, didn’t return e-mail and telephone messages. Ted Pile, a spokesman for Abingdon, Virginia-based Alpha, declined to comment. Telephone messages and e-mails left outside of normal business hours for Kim Link, an Arch spokeswoman, weren’t immediately returned.

Alpha, the largest U.S. metallurgical coal producer, has operations in Virginia, West Virginia, Kentucky, Pennsylvania and in Wyoming’s Powder River Basin.

Foundation Purchase

The Abingdon, Virginia-based company bought Foundation Coal Holdings Inc. for $2 billion in July 2009 to gain access to the low-cost thermal coal reserves in Wyoming, and controls about 2.3 billion tons of reserves.

Massey has about 2.8 billion tons of reserves, 1.3 billion of which is of the metallurgical or coking coal used to produce steel. Prices for steelmaking coal may surge 78 percent to a record $400 a metric ton for the three-month contract starting April 1, amid flooding in Queensland, Australia, which has disrupted supply, Bank of America Merrill Lynch said in a Jan. 25 report.

The company owns the Upper Big Branch mine near Montcoal, West Virginia, where 29 people died in an April 5 explosion, the worst U.S. coal mining disaster in 40 years. Massey has posted consecutive losses since the accident, citing associated costs and increased regulatory scrutiny.

Massey rose $2.84, or 5.2 percent, to $57.23 in New York Stock Exchange composite trading yesterday. The shares had fallen 35 percent since the fatal blast before surging on an Oct. 18 Wall Street Journal report that it was weighing a sale.

Capitol Hill software developer, civil liberties advocate, member of the Hill's Chamber of Commerce and, yes, frequent CHS commenter Phil Mocek announced this weekend that he was acquitted of all charges stemming from his arrest after refusing to show identification to TSA agents at the Albuquerque airport in November 2009.

Mocek was in New Mexico this week to be tried on misdemeanor charges including concealing his identity from officers who responded when he tried to pass through airport security without an ID in the 2009 incident. Mocek had been in the state to attend the International Drug Policy Reform Conference on behalf of the Cannabis Defense Coalition. He recorded video of his interaction with the TSA agents and police officers in the incident, a portion of which Mocek has posted online (and we've embedded in this post).
Seattle Weekly reports it took the New Mexico jury all of an hour to find Mocek not guilty.

Up here in the Northern part of North Dakota we just recovered from a Historic event --- may I even say a "Weather Event" of "Biblical Proportions" --- with a historic blizzard of up to 25’ of snow and winds to 50 MPH that broke trees in half, knocked down utility poles, stranded hundreds of motorists in lethal snow banks, closed ALL roads, isolated scores of communities and cut power to 10 ' s of thousands.

FYI:

Obama did not come.

FEMA did nothing.

No one howled for the government.

No one blamed the government.

No one even uttered an expletive on TV.

Jesse Jackson or Al Sharp ton did not visit.

Our Mayors did not blame Obama or anyone else.

Our Governor did not blame Obama or anyone else either.

CNN, ABC, CBS, FOX, or NBC did not visit - or even report on this category 5 snow storm.

Nobody demanded $2,000 debit cards.
No one asked for a FEMA Trailer House.
No one looted.
Nobody - I mean Nobody demanded the government do something.

Families took in the stranded people - total strangers.

We fired up wood stoves, broke out coal oil lanterns or Coleman lanterns.
We put on an extra layers of clothes because up here it is "Work or Die".
We did not wait for some affirmative action government to get us out of a mess created by being immobilized by a welfare program that trades votes for ' sitting at home ' checks.

Even though a Category 5 blizzard of this scale is not usual, we know it can happen and how to deal with it ourselves.

The U6 number fell to 16-7/8% from 17% last month, thus, the real unemployment number is 22-1/4%, off 3/8 of 1 percent in two months. The average duration of unemployment heads back up to a new record 34.2-weeks and when the share of the unemployed ranks looking for a job without success rises 2% to 44.3% you have a problem. It is hardly a winner. The workweek was unchanged at 34.3-hours. The employment rate was 58.3%, the same level it was at late in 1983. In order to re-ascend to peak employment levels 11 million jobs would have to be created. That cannot happen as the transnational conglomerates execute free trade, globalization, offshoring and outsourcing. That would be 2.75 million jobs annually over the next four years. Still millions of illegal aliens are streaming across our borders to find work and push American citizens out of their jobs.

There has been a decline in the number of jobless claims, but layoffs of state, country and city employs has added to the jobless, some 20,000 a month. Even with all the funds being injected into the system, the economy is still stagnant. The municipal layoffs will become acute in the last quarter of the year and carry over into 2012, as more and more towns, cities and states seek protection from bankruptcy.

WHO IS BOB CHAPMAN?

Mr. Chapman is 72 years old. He was born in Boston, MA and attended Northeastern University majoring in business management. He spent three years in the U. S. Army Counterintelligence, mostly in Europe. He speaks German and French and is conversant in Spanish. He lived in Europe for six years, off and on, three years in Africa, a year in Canada and a year in the Bahamas.

Mr. Chapman became a stockbroker in 1960 and retired in 1988. For 18 of those years he owned his own brokerage firm. He was probably the largest gold and silver stockbroker in the world during that period. When he retired he had over 6,000 clients.

From 1962 through 1976 he specialized in South African gold shares. He and his family lived in Salisbury, Rhodesia (now Harare, Zimbabwe) and Johannesburg, South Africa from 1970 to 1973. During that time he did a great deal of further study into the South African mining industry.

Mr. Chapman belonged to The Traders Association for 25 years. He did all his own trading. During his South African years some was done directly through Johannesburg, but 95% was done through London brokerage firms. Hence, he has extensive contacts, both in London and on the Continent.

Starting in 1967 Mr. Chapman began writing articles on business, finance, economics and politics having been printed and reprinted over the years in over 200 publications. He owned and wrote the Gary Allen Report, which had 30,000 subscribers. He currently is owner and editor of The International Forecaster, a compendium of information on business, finance, economics and social and political issues worldwide, which reaches 10,000 investors and brokers monthly directly, and parts of his publication are picked up by 60 different websites weekly exposing his ideas to over 10 million investors a week.

In 1976, after the Soweto riots, Mr. Chapman began buying North American shares exclusively for his clients. Up to that point only a handful of American and Canadian issues interested him, due to the high dividends the South African shares had paid out over the years. Between 1976 and 1988 his business surged from 1,000 to 6,000 clients, so the bulk of his business ended up being Vancouver Stock Exchange issues. For this reason he is very conversant with the quality of management, geologists, properties and traders on today’s North American scene. He is well known.

From 1976 to present he has spoke and given workshops at over 200 business conferences worldwide, and has been on radio and TV hundreds of times. Until his retirement he was always judged by the attendees to be one of the top three speakers and never once was lower than first in workshops due to his vast knowledge of the mining business and his grasp of worldwide financial markets and political scenes.

In June of 1991, at the request of business associates, and due to retirement boredom, he began writing the International Forecaster.

Giffords’s Friends Narrate the Moment She Opened Her Eye

Just a few hours after attending a memorial service in Tucson, a giddy Senator Kirsten E. Gillibrand of New York and Representative Debbie Wasserman-Schultz of Florida came back to the press cabin aboard Air Force One to tell reporters about the moment when their friend, Representative Gabrielle Giffords, opened one eye for the first time since she was shot in the head on Saturday.
“We were telling her how proud we were of her and how she was inspiring the whole nation with her courage and with her strength,” Ms. Gillibrand said. “Then Debbie and I started joking about all the things we were going to do when she got better. We were holding her hand, and she was responding to our hand holding. She was rubbing her hands and she was gripping our hands so we could … we knew she could hear and understand what we were saying, she moved her leg. We knew she was responding.”
And then, Ms. Gillibrand said, one of Ms. Giffords’s eyes started to twitch. (Her other eye was bandaged because it was damaged in the gunfire).
“Her eye is flickering and Mark sees this and gets extremely excited,” Ms. Gillibrand said. “He said, ‘Gabby open your eyes, open your eyes’ — he is really urging her forward, and the doctor is perking up.”
