The Kyoto Protocol is an international agreement linked to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. The major feature of the Kyoto Protocol is that it sets binding targets for 37 industrialized countries and the European community for reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions .These amount to an average of five per cent against 1990 levels over the five-year period 2008-2012. The major distinction between the Protocol and the Convention is that while the Convention encouraged industrialised countries to stabilize GHG emissions, the Protocol commits them to do so. Recognizing that developed countries are principally responsible for the current high levels of GHG emissions in the atmosphere as a result of more than 150 years of industrial activity, the Protocol places a heavier burden on developed nations under the principle of “common but differentiated responsibilities.”

The Kyoto Protocol was adopted in Kyoto, Japan, on 11 December 1997 and entered into force on 16 February 2005. The detailed rules for the implementation of the Protocol were adopted at COP 7 in Marrakesh in 2001, and are called the “Marrakesh Accords.”

In The Belly of The Beast: Alex Jones Wins Over Mainstream Colleagues

It’s still the buzz of the talk radio industry: the passionate keynote speech delivered by Alex Jones at the TALKERS convention on June 11th. In front of the mainstream media, on their hallowed turf, GCN radio superstar and anti-establishment thorn Alex Jones blasted the status quo and raised a call to arms to renew a sense of responsibility to the truth on the part of talk radio.

•  Although he did include the basic tenets of his ongoing warning against what he terms global social engineers’ conspiracy to gain control over the population’s (and talk radio’s) freedom via the internet and how he effectively taps into the public’s growing backlash against this, he also predicted a rapid acceleration of the technological and social changes impacting our society and discussed talk radio’s unique and powerful position as both an old and new medium in the coming era.

While at the convention, Alex Jones became quick buddies with actor and talk radio host Stephen Baldwin, whose right-leaning yet independent views differ vastly from his famous brother Alec.

Ben Fuchs says the event was a watershed for Alex Jones and GCN because this audience was comprised of fellow industry people who themselves specialize in the art of speaking. “Most people communicate just by default. There’s no consciousness behind their communication; there’s no awareness of their communication process. But these were people who understood the actual technique.”

TALKERS publisher Michael Harrison summed up the occasion eloquently: “It was about the power of truth as an attraction unto itself – whatever that truth might be.”

Nuclear Plant in Nebraska on Alert

We have a nuclear threat occurring in the very center of our own country and NONE of our mainstream media seems it is important enough to broadcast the event. Well, I think it is of MAJOR importance, so here is the linked story, from June 16.

Midwest Floods: Both Nebraska Nuclear Power Stations Threatened

Tens of millions of acres in the US corn belt have flooded, which will spike the cost of gas and food over the next several months. Worse, several nuclear power plants sit in the flooded plains. Both nuclear plants in Nebraska are partly submerged and the FAA has issued a no-fly order over both of them.

On June 7, the Fort Calhoun Nuclear Power Plant filed an Alert with the Nuclear Regulatory Commission after a fire broke out in the switchgear room. During the event, “spent fuel pool cooling was lost” when two fuel pumps failed for about 90 minutes.

On June 9, Nebraska’s other plant, Cooper Nuclear Power Station near Brownville, filed a Notice of Unusual Event (NOUE), advising it is unable to discharge sludge into the Missouri River due to flooding, and therefore “overtopped” its sludge pond.

The Fort Calhoun TFR (temporary flight restriction) was issued the day before the nuclear Alert. The FAA issued another TFR on June 7 for the Cooper plant.

Other flood-related TFRs were issued on June 13 for the Garrison Dam in Bismarck, North Dakota and on June 5 for rescue operations in Sioux City, SD.

Under the four-level nuclear event scale used in the US, an NOUE is the least hazardous. In an Alert, however, “events are in process or have occurred that involve an actual or potential substantial degradation in the level of safety of the plant,” according to the NRC.

Despite some media reports, Ft Calhoun is not at a stage 4 level of emergency, which under the US scale, would be “actual or imminent substantial core damage or melting of reactor fuel with the potential for loss of containment integrity.”

If that rumor refers to the seven-level International Nuclear and Radiological Event Scale, a Level 4 incident requires at least one death, which has not occurred.

Continued flooding does threaten the plants, however. As nuclear engineer Arnie Gundersen explains in this video, cooling pumps must operate continuously, even years after a plant is shut down.

One group, the Foundation for Resilient Societies, has proposed solar panels and other high-reliability power sources to supply backup cooling for the fuel pools at nuclear plants.

Thomas Popik told Food Freedom that FRS “invited the Chief Nuclear Officers of nearly every nuclear power utility to comment” on their proposal and only heard back from one operator. Otherwise, not one CNO has officially responded to the NRC-filed proposal.

While hindsight might be 20/20, the lack of foresight can be blindingly deadly when it comes to radioactive waste that lasts tens of thousands of years for the measly prize of 40 years of electricity.

The Ft. Calhoun plant — which stores its fuel rods at ground level according to Tom Burnett — is already partly submerged.

Let us logically break down the AP story...

First, we have a secretive group of world leaders [violating laws such as the Logan Act], corporate individuals, and others {see list here} meeting in closed session to talk of things that shall effect the globe and all who live on it.  Some of their names are shielded from public view as knowledge of their attendance would jeopardize their positions within this collusion and undeniably their careers. 

Second, we have scholars, photo journalists, reporters, protesters, and others share free documents, documentaries, and other materials which expose / prove an illicit effort of the attendees to collude in order to gain economic control / power over major resource areas of the world.  These guys put their names right out there with DVD distributing, YouTube videos, passing out documents with references, websites, and protests in an effort to expose the global cartel that is eliminating our basic rights, violating most of them on a daily basis, excluding themselves from their own subjectivity, exposed as perverts, adulterers, murderers, and felons and the group is only getting larger.....!

With the growing movement to end the Federal Reserve, many are talking about it but one man is doing something about it. Eric Raue is inviting other GCN listeners to join him in peaceful protest, and he is kicking it off on Independence Day, the 4th of July, 2011.

Starting on July 4th, at 1:00 p.m. EST, an extended protest event will begin in New Paltz, New York, on the fenced green just over the bridge on Main Street. Raue says the event will last 24/7 until November 1st, or until his goal is met: the abolition of the Federal Reserve System. The target of the protest is not only the Federal Reserve, but also its pervasive role in modern U.S. government.

Raue writes, “This ‘mutant government’, getting stronger every day while the average Westerner sits and watches, is a network of corporate and banking institutions as much as it is a political system.”

To gain insight into the perceptive ‘Infowarrior’ mind of Raue, considering what he wrote for comments at The Huntington Patch following the announcement of the death of Osama bin Laden:

“At best, this is a political event that will be exploited to step up surveillance and the erosion of civil liberties here at home as we’re injected with “retaliation fear.” It will also be used to justify expanding and accelerating our wars in the Middle East. If we’re celebrating death, even the death of an evil man, aren’t we putting ourselves on the same level as the brutal ‘Islamofascist’ terrorists whose ideologies we’re supposedly battling? The people celebrating in NYC and DC looked just like the Arab mobs who were documented celebrating on 9/11. When we celebrate death, destruction, and the military-industrial complex, we’re supporting terrorism.”

Raue will set up an 8′ x 12′ platform on the edge of downtown New Paltz, on the green at the start of Main Street, just over the bridge. He says, “I will not leave the platform until The Fed is abolished, or the 120-day period has ended. By becoming a fixture in that spot for an extended period of time, I hope to inspire [others].”

In a world where nobody seems to be telling the truth anymore we are often left with more questions than answers.  Instead of just telling us the facts, everything seems to be about getting "the spin" right these days.  For example, the Osama Bin Laden "death story" has already been changed by the White House multiple times.  Fake Osama Bin Laden death photos (like the one above) have been flying all over the Internet.  Massive amounts of radiation continues to pour out of the Fukushima nuclear complex in Japan and yet all the authorities continue to insist that it is nothing to worry about.  The global economy is teetering on the brink of disaster and yet it is being called "an economic recovery".  The U.S. government has essentially already reached the debt ceiling and yet now Timothy Geithner is claiming that it won't be a problem until August.  The world is becoming a more bizarre place with each passing week, and the lies just keep on getting bigger and bigger and bigger.  
The following are 31 interesting questions about some of the major events happening in our world right now.... 

#1 CNN is reporting that the clearest death picture of Osama Bin Laden "is so gruesome and mangled" that authorities believe it is not appropriate for the public.  But the truth is that Hollywood movies show much worse every single day.  What possible justification could there possibly be for not showing us all the video and all the pictures that they say that they have?
#2 The U.S. government claims that it buried Osama Bin Laden at sea because it wanted to observe "Islamic law".  Well, it turns out that Islamic law actually requires burial in the ground if at all possible.  So why was there such a rush to dump Osama Bin Laden into the ocean?

Killing Osama bin Laden is a pretty big deal. You’d think that it would be in the interests of US forces to take a snapshot of the elusive terror leader to milk the propaganda value of such a momentous turn of events, and yet the corporate media has given us nothing but a years old fake picture. This makes little sense, unless of course, somebody is trying to hide something, namely the fact that Osama’s dead corpse has been on ice for the best part of a decade.

According to some reports, Bin Laden’s body has already been hastily “buried at sea,” meaning that the comic book story of his dramatic killing is based solely on the less than credible word of the U.S. government.

Of course, it’s probable that we’ll be treated to seeing all the gory details in due course once Osama’s corpse has been properly thawed and suitably presented for public consumption.

But the fake photo, which is still being used by the likes of the Daily Mail and the London Telegraph even after it was proven to be a contrived hoax that has been circulating on the Internet for years, fits perfectly with everything surrounding the Bin Laden myth – the fake video tapes, the fake audio tapes, the fake claim of responsibility for 9/11.

Everything about the Bin Laden myth that has been rapaciously whipped up by the establishment over the last 10 years has been fake, so why worry about putting out a fake photo and claiming it represents the freshly dead remains of the world’s most wanted?

We don’t need MSNC to tell us, “We think that bin Laden ‘death photo’ is a fake,” because we know it’s a fake. It’s been knocking around on the web since before Obama even took office. Here it is featured in a story released over a year ago. As Stokes Young illustrates, the bloodied face of Bin Laden is an obviously contrived composite image created from an image of Osama that dates back over 10 years.

But that didn’t stop TV news stations across the Middle East, as well as major newspapers in Britain like the Daily Mail and the London Telegraph, amongst a host of others, from passing the fraud off as evidence of Bin Laden’s death.

Bin Laden had approved the 9/11 attacks in which nearly 3,000 people died.

He evaded the forces of the US and its allies for almost a decade, despite a $25m bounty on his head.

Mr Obama said he had been briefed last August on a possible lead to Bin Laden's whereabouts.

"It was far from certain, and it took many months to run this thread to ground," Mr Obama said.

"I met repeatedly with my national security team as we developed more information about the possibility that we had located Bin Laden hiding within a compound deep inside of Pakistan.

"And finally, last week, I determined that we had enough intelligence to take action, and authorised an operation to get Osama Bin Laden and bring him to justice," the president said. 

On Sunday, US forces said to be from the elite Navy Seal Team Six undertook the operation in Abbottabad, 100km (62 miles) north-east of Islamabad.

After a "firefight" Bin Laden was killed and his body taken by US forces, the president said.

Mr Obama said "no Americans were harmed".

US officials said Bin Laden was shot in the head after resisting.

US media reports said that the body was buried at sea to conform with Islamic practice of a burial within 24 hours and to prevent any grave becoming a shrine.

Chicago school bans packed lunches

A small school in Chicago is making big news on the lunch line these days. Little Village Academy on Chicago's West Side no longer allows students to bring food from home to eat for lunch. So it's either eat the cafeteria food or go hungry. As you might expect, the policy has parents all around the nation in an uproar.
According to Little Village's principal, Elsa Carmona, the intention of the policy is to protect students from the potential for unhealthy homemade lunches.

"Nutrition wise, it is better for the children to eat at the school," Carmona told the Chicago Tribune. "It's about the nutrition and the excellent quality food that they are able to serve (in the lunchroom). It's milk versus a Coke. But with allergies and any medical issue, of course, we would make an exception."
Carmona says she made the policy decision after seeing kids bringing bottles of soda and bags of chips on field trips. I applaud her intention to improve kids' nutrition, but I'm not sure that banning homemade lunches is the way to get it done.

American Freedom Museum -TX,USA

..commentary :
My work took me pretty close to my brother's home in the great state of Texas.  Gas prices being what they are, I didn't pass up the opportunity [he even offered gas cash], having rare occasions to see him in the flesh.  We had a couple of days of "brothers catching up", sightseeing, bar-b-que, and fellowship.
The NCAA was not meeting our standards, I threw "museum texas" into StartPage and found the AMERICAN FREEDOM MUSEUM - BULLARD, TX.

Brook Hill School

Situated within the halls of The Brook Hill School, the museum extends out of the original Brook Hill School building as a symbol of the strength and morality that has been nurtured at this site.  The architecture is naturally luring as you walk to the front doors lying beneath the semi-monolithic domed entry.  When one looks at the entire site it is seen as an extension of learning ...evolving into intellectual strength.  This type of high school environ is hard to find these days....
[tho, I am sure that my 10 and 12 year old girls wouldn't be very happy if Daddy came home saying, "Well HI there my sweet little ones, Guess where you will be going to high school!!" ....but then again, when the time comes, who knows?].
We drove casually as he cited what happened here and there, who lived where, a grand tour guide indeed.  We arrived at the museum, ...my brother was impressed.  Back in the 60s...drafted at the height of his academic awakening, toured VietNam as a Lieutenant Huey Pilot, Siver Star.  He was surprised he had not known of this physical tribute to learning and Freedom.

Impressive exhibits, original pieces of historic GOLD....in the form of tools for chiseling Freedom into this world of extortion, greed, murder, and deception.  I watched as my brother examined and glazed into thought.  Our appreciation of the museum was very evident in our actions and contemplative mood.  We spent the afternoon there.  The young man, late teens, who's position it was to greet and log visitors, stood 6' alert and receptive.  He was a senior at Brook Hill and answered all our questions to the "T".  My brother walked away from the building, I stood with the young man just inside the doorway enjoying the sun's rays and the exciting conversation with a young man that added to my optimism of our future.  I told him, "..there goes a man who knows more about the cost of Freedom than does 90% of America.  ...down in 3 choppers, into places we were "never in", sacrifice beyond, ...he doesn't talk much about it, so neither will I.  The young man shared his history of many generations of his family attending Brook Hill.  They all went on to serve America by wearing its uniform and serving with honor.
We drove away, impressed, memories surfaced, beautiful sunny day, kinda melancholy as we both knew that the cost of Freedom is within the hearts and minds of men.
